Car’s Jr and Hardee’s just boosted their menus by reinventing one of the American burger classics, the Southwest Patty Melt. The classic burger now comes with a spicy twist with the brands throwing in grilled onions, sliced jalapenos, and spicy sauce to the charbroiled patty and sourdough bread.

The updated burger is launched to the market with an additional dose and dash of hotness as Kate Upton, Sports Illustrated cover girl and supermodel, endorses the Southwest Patty Melt. The ad is retro inspired giving hints of the 1950s where you drive in to the theater while Kate Upton in a vintage car and vintage glam getup enjoys the burger.

Burger plus supermodel plus 2.6 million hits on YouTube since 24 February just mean a few things: sex still sells, the burger must be yummy, and Kate Upton is really hot. Every ingredient to be viral.

Click here to view the embedded video.

We are pretty sure some of you guys are shocked while some had to replay that ad several times in all its sixty second glory.

The ad centers on the image of the beefed up version of the Fiat 500 with better interior and more exciting color finishes that will roll out in the US market by next year. The alter ego of the Fiat 500 Abarth is the supermodel wearing a size 4, 5 feet 9 inches in height, and tipping the scale at 112 lbs, and practically looks good in anything she wears.

We talked to some friends who have seen the online commercial titled “Seduction”. Naturally, the men gave thumbs up to the visual delight more than the women.

How about you, were you seduced by this ad?

Making a commercial is a very effective, not to mention creative, method of marketing a business or product. In general, when a business is able to get a commercial made and broadcast, they typically see a fairly quick turn around. With the amount of consumers that interact with media, whether online, listening to radio, or watching television, it makes sense to create a commercial if the opportunity presents itself in the marketing budget. There are three main types of commercials that play. These are online commercials, television commercials, and radio commercials. While these are all distinct mediums, making commercials for them will follow the same general trajectory.

The first thing that happens when making a commercial is to identify the target audience. The marketing department will want to research what its target audience is listening too and when, or what it is watching and when, or what sites they are browsing. Making an online commercial can be great for the marketing department because they are not as restricted by what time their ads should run.

The next stage is to write the script, and draw up storyboards. For a radio commercial, only a script is needed, whereas television and online commercials will often need storyboards.

There is a planning process to online and television commercials that is going to include sets, props and actors. For a radio commercial it is going to be things like voice actors, sound effects and music. An animated commercial will also need voice actors, as well as animators to draw and or apply the storyboard images to a computer animation system. Like a radio commercial, animation also might include music and sound effects.

The next stage is to shoot or record the commercial. Shooting is going to function much like a film. In fact, a commercial can be thought of as a short film showcasing a product or service. The radio commercial and voice-over for animation will take place in a sound booth, and will be recorded in several takes, similar to a visual commercial being filmed in more than one take. This production stage can take anywhere from a few hours to many days. This is dependent on how ambitious the commercial is. This can include special effects, special animation, or even stunt work.

Finally, the commercial is edited. This is when the filming, recording, music, sound and other elements are brought together into a cohesive commercial. This is can be a very long process. In fact, it can go even longer than principle shooting or recording. Even the simplest project can require many, many hours after production to edit. Editing also works to make sure that the final product is without mistakes. The goal of editing is to take all of the parts and make them perfect. For example, the editing team will want to make sure that the sound recording is consistent, or that the filming does not contain details that are not meant to be in the final product, such as pedestrians crossing through the shot in the background, or background noise.

In conclusion, a commercial is a very involved creative process, with many stages that ultimately result in the product that is heard about, seen on television, or clicked on from a website.

Born on February 11, 1974, Isaiah Mustafa was the last to be born among the 7 children of Wali Mustafa and Shanidah Mustafah. As their last name implies, Isaiah came from a Muslim family. Their main business was a limousine service at the time. He took history subject at Arizona State and in the year 2000, Isaiah was able to establish his own business – Jo Jo’s Barbecue, which was a restaurant located at Melrose Avenue in L.A. The restaurant is now closed as Isaiah found a new career path to take.

Today, you may probably know Isaiah Mustafa from various TV commercials from Old Spice. He was the main lead of the commercial called The Man Your Man Could Smell Like. Before his acting career, Mustafa started out in a sports career. He first played high school basketball and ran tracks at Santa Clara HS located in Oxnard, California. At the time, Mustafa didn’t play any football yet still tried out for the football team of Moorpark College. Mustafa made the team and began as a free safety and then became a wide receiver. He then earned a football scholarship for Arizona State University in 1995. He was given the position of wide receiver for the school’s team Arizona State Sun Devils. However, Mustafa had an unclear argument with the team’s coach and was benched his whole senior year. Mustafa had his chance to play for his team in 1997′s Rose Bowl against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mustafa was then discovered by a sports agent and advised him to show up for NFL tryouts. And although Mustafa assumed to be a high school teacher after his college graduation, Mustafa eventually made it in the NFL and was assigned to the practice squad for the Houston Oilers, which is now known as Tennessee Titans. He was then assigned to NFL European team Barcelona Dragons in the year 1998. After a year from the team, he joined the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns’ team as part of the practice squad. Isaiah Mustafa then went to Seattle Seahawk’s training camp in 2000.

After the training camp from Seahawks’, Mustafa decided to enter the acting industry. He played only short roles at first in different TV programs and then achieved popularity from his monologues in the Old Spice’s ad campaign – The Man Your Man Could Smell Like. It was the first commercial of Mustafa and was led by Tom Kuntz‘s direction. Mustafa appeared in different series that was created from a 3-day production and was posted on YouTube. The videos were customized and were hilarious with Isaiah resurrecting his role from the Old Spice ad campaign.

As for the personal life of Isaiah Mustafa, he is a comic book fan, specially of Batman and Spiderman comic books. In fact, due to his familiarity with Doctor Doom’s first name, he was able to answer the question as to what the first name of Doctor Frankenstein was and landed him the $47,000 prize from the Weakest Link. The money helped Isaiah Mustafa in pursuing his acting career. Furthermore, he named his daughter from the character in Batman, Harley Quinn. Isaiah Mustafa is also a fraternity member of Pi Kappa Alpha; his stint started out while attending in Arizona State University.

A good commercial is one that sells the product. The art may win awards, the website might get an award for the developer, everyone might sing the jingle but the purpose of the commercial is to sell. If the commercial doesn’t sell the product, service or promote the brand then it failed.

Advertising history is filled with notable artistic successes and business failures. We remember and chuckle at the commercial but can’t remember what it sold. Commercials are a delicate mix of art, sound, lighting and timing of delivery that have to add up to success. A good commercial walks a delicate balance along a tightrope of art, brevity, sound and comment, and aiming at as broad an audience as possible while still targeting a real audience of purchasers or those who can influence a purchase.

There are some things to remember when designing a good commercial. First, what are you selling and to whom are you selling it? The construction and format of the commercial will identify with the product or service and the message must fit the audience and their lifestyle. The commercial has to go out and find viewers/buyers. Knowing where they gather, what their buying habits are and what gets their attention takes research and this has to be invested before any scripts are composed or actors hired. Consumer research is a primary ingredient in making a good commercial. Knowing the primary target group, where they gather to get their purchasing information, how much they spend, how much they make and how to appeal to these concepts is crucial. Buying habits and what motivates them to buy one product over another is another type of information that has to be blended into the end product.

The commercial cannot aim over the heads of the audience, and it can’t dumb down either. On the other hand, annoying commercials sometimes can plant a brand or name in a consumer’s mind, but this is a risky venture.

Good commercials get results: purchases. They need to combine a mixture of presentation, art, sound and maybe a good song or soundtrack, eye-catching appeal and a good voice-over, and being timed to be in front of the right audience when they gather to communicate. 2 am info-commercials are notorious for annoyingly sleazy presentations, go this route with caution, time slots count and knowing your customer’s schedules for drive time (radio) and work (internet and radio) and relaxation time (television) is critical to your marketing plan.

Good commercials are the result of research, planning, execution and timing. Figure these into your commercial and you will succeed.

Becoming an actress is the dream of many women. However, breaking into the movies can be a real challenge. There is a path to earning a living as an actress that may be easier to follow. It is working as a commercial actress. Getting started can be relatively simple. First create a resume highlighting the skills which make you unique. Perfect your ‘look’ whatever it might be. Get some acting experience even if you have to volunteer. Find an agent. Go on some auditions. If you take these steps they will bring you closer to a career as a commercial actress.

Creating a good resume is an important first step toward your goal as a commercial actress. You should list any special skills you have. Can you sing, dance or do gymnastics? Can you move your eyes, nose or muscles in some unusual way? Is there anything about you which make you stand out? An accent, an unusual body part or a special talent can separate you from the crowd. You should take some time and craft a resume which highlights your strengths and experiences. That will increase your chances of finding work as a commercial actress.

Each person has a distinctive ‘look’. You may have the quintessential housewife, school teacher or businesswoman look. Some people look like an athlete or a nurse. There are others who just naturally look like a matriarch. All of these can help you to find work as a commercial actress. Commercials often need a particular ‘type’ to convey a certain message. Refine your look. Identify colors or cuts of clothing that bring out your look even more. Pay attention to the way your comb your hair, the way you hold your head or walk. The key is to accentuate the characteristics which will make casting directors take notice.

Nothing beats acting experience. It means you have presented yourself to an audience and know how to get into character and hold it. There are a number of ways to get experience. You can join a local theatre group or find out if your local television stations need volunteers to read public service announcements. Working as an extra in movies is another excellent way to get experience. Even if you are just a person in a crowd it gives you a little better understanding of the acting process. That can help to make your resume stand out and make casting directors take a closer look at you.

Many companies shooting commercial find their actresses through agents or scouting agencies like H-Models. Finding an agent to help promote you can make a significant difference in your chances of finding work as a commercial actress. You may be able to find an agent who specializes in representing women or who focuses on finding work for people in commercials. You may have to pay a little to get a good agent, but the investment will be well worth it if that agent is able to get you in front of some casting directors.

The final step is going on auditions. Generally the more auditions you go to the better your chances of finding work. Even if the audition is for a bit part where only your hands, feet, back or face shows, go anyway. You never know what will catch the eye of someone in the industry. No matter how small the part, give it your all. That may be your first step towards becoming a successful commercial actress.
