We are pretty sure some of you guys are shocked while some had to replay that ad several times in all its sixty second glory.

The ad centers on the image of the beefed up version of the Fiat 500 with better interior and more exciting color finishes that will roll out in the US market by next year. The alter ego of the Fiat 500 Abarth is the supermodel wearing a size 4, 5 feet 9 inches in height, and tipping the scale at 112 lbs, and practically looks good in anything she wears.

We talked to some friends who have seen the online commercial titled “Seduction”. Naturally, the men gave thumbs up to the visual delight more than the women.

How about you, were you seduced by this ad?

The Process of Making a Commercial

Making a commercial is a very effective, not to mention creative, method of marketing a business or product. In general, when a business is able to get a commercial made and broadcast, they typically see a fairly quick turn around. With the amount of consumers that interact with media, whether online, listening to radio, or watching television, it makes sense to create a commercial if the opportunity presents itself in the marketing budget. There are three main types of commercials that play. These are online commercials, television commercials, and radio commercials. While these are all distinct mediums, making commercials for them will follow the same general trajectory.

The first thing that happens when making a commercial is to identify the target audience. The marketing department will want to research what its target audience is listening too and when, or what it is watching and when, or what sites they are browsing. Making an online commercial can be great for the marketing department because they are not as restricted by what time their ads should run.

The next stage is to write the script, and draw up storyboards. For a radio commercial, only a script is needed, whereas television and online commercials will often need storyboards.

There is a planning process to online and television commercials that is going to include sets, props and actors. For a radio commercial it is going to be things like voice actors, sound effects and music. An animated commercial will also need voice actors, as well as animators to draw and or apply the storyboard images to a computer animation system. Like a radio commercial, animation also might include music and sound effects.

Apparently New Zealand bans commercials too…

Can anyone confirm this commercial was actually banned in NZ?

Was it because they say “they share a golden shower” at the end?

Born on February 11, 1974, Isaiah Mustafa was the last to be born among the 7 children of Wali Mustafa and Shanidah Mustafah. As their last name implies, Isaiah came from a Muslim family. He took history subject at Arizona State and in the year 2000, Isaiah was able to establish his own business – Jo Jo’s Barbecue, which was a restaurant located at Melrose Avenue in L.A. Today, you may probably know Isaiah Mustafa from various TV commercials from Old Spice. He was the main lead of the commercial called The Man Your Man Could Smell Like. Before his acting career, Mustafa started out in a sports career. He first played high school basketball and ran tracks at Santa Clara HS located in Oxnard, California. At the time, Mustafa didn’t play any football yet still tried out for the football team of Moorpark College. Mustafa made the team and began as a free safety and then became a wide receiver. He then earned a football scholarship for Arizona State University in 1995. He was given the position of wide receiver for the school’s team Arizona State Sun Devils. However, Mustafa had an unclear argument with the team’s coach and was benched his whole senior year. Mustafa had his chance to play for his team in 1997′s Rose Bowl against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mustafa was then discovered by a sports agent and advised him to show up for NFL tryouts. And although Mustafa assumed to be a high school teacher after his college graduation, Mustafa eventually made it in the NFL and was assigned to the practice squad for the Houston Oilers, which is now known as Tennessee Titans. He was then assigned to NFL European team Barcelona Dragons in the year 1998. After a year from the team, he joined the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns’ team as part of the practice squad. What Makes a Commercial a Good Commercial?

A good commercial is one that sells the product. The art may win awards, the website might get an award for the developer, everyone might sing the jingle but the purpose of the commercial is to sell. If the commercial doesn’t sell the product, service or promote the brand then it failed.

tvAdvertising history is filled with notable artistic successes and business failures. We remember and chuckle at the commercial but can’t remember what it sold. Commercials are a delicate mix of art, sound, lighting and timing of delivery that have to add up to success. A good commercial walks a delicate balance along a tightrope of art, brevity, sound and comment, and aiming at as broad an audience as possible while still targeting a real audience of purchasers or those who can influence a purchase.

There are some things to remember when designing a good commercial. First, what are you selling and to whom are you selling it? The construction and format of the commercial will identify with the product or service and the message must fit the audience and their lifestyle. The commercial has to go out and find viewers/buyers. Knowing where they gather, what their buying habits are and what gets their attention takes research and this has to be invested before any scripts are composed or actors hired. Consumer research is a primary ingredient in making a good commercial. Knowing the primary target group, where they gather to get their purchasing information, how much they spend, how much they make and how to appeal to these concepts is crucial. Buying habits and what motivates them to buy one product over another is another type of information that has to be blended into the end product.

How to Become a Commercial Actress

Becoming an actress is the dream of many women. However, breaking into the movies can be a real challenge. There is a path to earning a living as an actress that may be easier to follow. It is working as a commercial actress. Getting started can be relatively simple. First create a resume highlighting the skills which make you unique. Perfect your ‘look’ whatever it might be. Get some acting experience even if you have to volunteer. Find an agent. Go on some auditions. If you take these steps they will bring you closer to a career as a commercial actress.

cameraCreating a good resume is an important first step toward your goal as a commercial actress. You should list any special skills you have. Can you sing, dance or do gymnastics? Can you move your eyes, nose or muscles in some unusual way? Is there anything about you which make you stand out? An accent, an unusual body part or a special talent can separate you from the crowd. You should take some time and craft a resume which highlights your strengths and experiences. That will increase your chances of finding work as a commercial actress.

Each person has a distinctive ‘look’. You may have the quintessential housewife, school teacher or businesswoman look. Some people look like an athlete or a nurse. There are others who just naturally look like a matriarch. All of these can help you to find work as a commercial actress. Commercials often need a particular ‘type’ to convey a certain message. Refine your look. Identify colors or cuts of clothing that bring out your look even more. Pay attention to the way your comb your hair, the way you hold your head or walk. The key is to accentuate the characteristics which will make casting directors take notice.
